The Knox School

The Knox School is a close knit and welcoming community where the process of education takes place on a campus of striking beauty and diversity. Situated on over fifty acres overlooking historic Stony Brook Harbor, Knox invites students from the metropolitan area, across the country, and around the world to live, learn, and grow in an environment of inclusivity.

Located just 60 miles from Manhattan, and a short ferry ride from southern New England, The Knox School prepares capable students for admission to selective colleges and universities. An independent, coeducational day and boarding school, grades 6-12, The Knox School seeks to inspire within each student a lifelong love of learning and the character and self-confidence necessary for success in a complex and changing world. Our small class environment encourages students to excel in a liberal arts program infused with athletic and artistic pursuits. For riding enthusiasts, we also offer a 9-month program specializing in equitation, both hunters and jumpers.
