Boarding school packing list

If you are going to start at a boarding school there are many things to take into account in order to prepare for your first and exiting day. Below you can find a boarding school list of things that many of them want you to bring, don't forget to bring them:

A Cellular Phone

A cellular phone will be very useful for you, it will help to communicate with your parents, or teachers whenever is necessary. Just remember that there are rules for cellphones usage, so don't get in trouble with this. Also make sure you cellphone service allows unlimited calls and text messages at least for a year and if it's with a camera better.

Credit Card

Bring you Credit Card with you. There could be some emergencies or difficulties that will required them. You and your parents have to discuss about the amount on the credit card and use it safety.

MP3 Player or Ipod

You will need to bring your music with you in order to have some fun and to listen to music in your free time.  There are also rules about it but as log as you follow the rules MP3 player is allowed. Don’t forget to include earphones or speakers with spares.

Laptop and Printer

Boarders are required to bring a laptop, it will be a part of your fees and maybe the school will specify the type of computer you will need. Also bring a jump drive, a printer, essential CD's with the operative system, antivirus, etc.

Clothes:

  • Underwear and socks
  • Uniform, 2 or 3 sets
  • Clothes, Casual clothes, jeans, t shirts, jacket, winter coat, gloves
  • Shoes, athletic shoes, sandals
  • Formal Clothes: Most schools have formal events so bring a couple of sets..
    • Boys: ties & dress slacks, sport coat, collared-shirts
    • Girls: dress pants & tops, blouses, skirts, dresses
  • Bath Robe
  • Bath towels and wash cloth (2 - 3 of each)

Bed Clothes

Bring the necessary bedding:
Blankets
Pillows
Bath Towels
Sheets
Pillow
Mattress pad
Laundry bag

Some appliance type articles

  • 2 pairs of earphones (Respect your roommate; wear headphones while listening to music.) All chargers (Laptop, I-pod, Speakers etc)
  • Personal Hygiene products
  • Trunks and Luggage
  • Reading lamp for bed
  • Desk lamp
  • Hair dryer
  • Stereo
  • Alarm clock
  • Fan
  • Flashlight
  • Camera
  • Batteriess
  • Bicycle
  • Duct tape
  • Backpacks

* Remember, boarding schools send a list of the necessary items that you will need.
